In addition, we reviewed over 20 years of data in IPEDS to better identify and understand trends and metrics that can indicate institutional health and risk. This preliminary report shares initial findings from our work.

Todd Nicolet
Todd Nicolet, PhD, and Michael Fern, PhD, bring over five decades of combined higher education experience, serving in both faculty and operational leadership roles. Dr. Nicolet recently retired as Vice Provost for Digital and Lifelong Learning at UNC Chapel Hill, and Dr. Fern serves as Chief Administrative Officer for Population Health Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine, where he also led a university-wide operational excellence initiative. With PhDs in Higher Education Administration and Strategic Management, respectively, their research focuses on data-informed decision making, operational management, and strategic change.
